For the instructions provided below, all icons and screenshots are taken from a Samsung device.
Make sure that you have an email account established on an email app to begin.
Take photos of the parts or product in question. Please consider taking pictures that focus on the areas of concern with any individual parts or pieces. Taking a picture of the product as-a-whole may be needed as well for context or to help convey the problem.
Open the default photo gallery app on your phone. At the bottom of your screen, you’ll see options such as 'Pictures,' 'Albums,' 'Stories,' and a 'Menu' icon that appear in a banner. Depending on the phone, this banner may only appear when scrolling up and disappear when scrolling down. Select 'Pictures' so that all pictures you’ve taken appear in chronological order, i.e., displaying the month and day a picture or pictures were taken.
When locating the picture or pictures you want to email, long press on one picture so that it shows it has been selected. When a photo has been selected, a checkmark will appear showing it has been chosen. If more than one picture needs to be selected, short press each so those are checked off as well. Since pictures are normally large files, you may need to limit the number of pictures per email to 3 or 4 at a time. If a picture has been selected by mistake, short press the photo you would like to remove by short pressing it again which removes the checkmark.
When in select mode, the banner at the bottom of your screen will display options such as 'Create,' 'Share,' 'Delete,' and an icon for 'More.' Select the 'Share' icon to pull up apps that allow for pictures to be transferred, including any email apps that are currently installed on your phone.
Select the email app you would like to use to email pictures that appears in the banner beneath the pictures you’ve selected. Common email apps for Android phones are the manufacturer’s default email app [i.e., Samsung, LG, etc.], Gmail , and Outlook .
With your email app selected, a new window will open showing an email for you to fill in who it will be sent to, the subject of the email, and space to compose a message. The photos you’ve selected will automatically be added as attachments to this new email. At this point you may be asked if you want to reduce the image size of the pictures since they are normally large files. In most cases it is okay to select the “Reduce image size” option here.
In the “To” field, type in the email address that our customer support representative provided you over the phone or via a previous email exchange. In the “Subject,” please include your inquiry reference number (if one had been provided previously) and/or a reference to the model number or product purchased. In the body of the email, please compose a message informing us of your previous contact with us, your contact information, and any context that may be needed regarding the pictures that are now attached to your email.
When finished, a 'Send' icon (normally an arrow pointing to the right) will appear or will become selectable. Select this icon to send your email to us.
